What would you say to a child or loved one if someone spoke to them that way? Just as you would not want anyone to say hurtful things to a child or your best friend, you should not speak badly to yourself either.
Typically, the inner thoughts or words you say to someone else will be kind, comforting, and compassionate, helping you to speak to yourself more in that way.
