Can you eat peanuts when pregnant?

A recent study by scientists at the University of Portsmouthen USA found that most pregnant women avoid peanuts, regardless of whether they have a family history of atopy (eczema, asthma or hay fever).

But according to the study, peanuts are perfectly safe for women with no history of atopy. So it is not always dangerous to taste peanut butter!

But, in certain cases it is advisable to avoid peanuts during the gestation period, for example, if you, your partner or one of your previous children have ever suffered an allergic reaction to something. Precisely, among the allergic conditions are: eczema, asthma and hay fever.

It should be noted that among nuts, only peanuts are dangerous for some women. Other nuts, like walnuts, are completely safe. An allergic reaction occurs when the body responds with excessive sensitivity to a specific substance. This can be reflected in respiratory problems and skin conditions.
