How to hold your baby correctly?

  • To catch him correctly when he is lying down, the ideal is put your hands under your back holding the head and neck with one hand and the bum with the other.
  • Keep in mind that a newborn has been protected by amniotic fluid for nine months, so when it is outside and being moved, it may experience a certain feeling of emptiness or vertigo. Move him gently and get close to your body as soon as possible so that it feels safe and protected.

  • If you are going to leave him in the crib, keep your baby close to your body as long as possible. Squat down and place gently on it, slowly removing your hand from its back and finally that of its head.

  • Get a good ergonomic baby carrier. This will allow you to have your hands free and to carry your baby always close to your body, while doing homework, shopping or going for a walk.
