How could integrity help your family?
A strong sense of integrity enables people to behave consistently with their own values. A character who lacks integrity, for example, might cheat on a spouse to ease their own feelings of inadequacy or frustration, even though they may be aware that Communicating these feelings openly is the kindest, bravest, or vulnerable option.
Having integrity enables people to:
- Speak out against injustice: people with integrity are natural whistleblowers, vigilantes and activists: they hold the corrupt accountable.
- Inspire others to take a position: characters with integrity are also good leaders, since they live the values they possess
- Pursue goals with conscience: these characters know themselves well enough to know what they value and desire and actively pursue these ends.
This people trait is good for characters who are admired by others, from freedom fighters to social activists and charitable people who strive to live up to their ideals.
It is important and necessary to work integrity with children since they are young, being, as adults and referents, the best example. Remember that you cannot demand integrity from your children if you do not behave with integrity every day of your life. You must be their best example for them to model your good behavior!
