Kindness helps us to: create empathic and reciprocal friendships or allies, motivate others, even when it is not just for our own interest, increase our own well-being, satisfaction and stability.

A person who is kind is capable of conquering people more easily. They find friends and allies easier because they see when others need help and are willing to step up. This could serve your own personal goals, as they find others willing to help out of mutual liking.
A key trait related to good character when we speak of kindness is "courage." It takes courage to consistently treat others with warmth and compassion. This is particularly true if we are afraid of them or hurt ourselves. The kindness of one person could give you:

It is important to explain to children the importance of kindness and kindness in people because in this way, they will understand all the benefits it could bring to their life.
