The study in adolescence: being close, without creating the feeling that you are watching

When you have teenage children it is essential that you are close to them always, but without them realizing that you are watching or controlling what they do or do not do. Leaving them alone is strongly discouraged, as this could be interpreted as negligence and indifference.

You simply have to keep looking for moral support without creating the feeling that you are watching over them. Also, just being around will discourage the temptation for your teen to do something else during study time.

You may feel like it's premature to offer this kind of advice now, considering it's long before the June exam. Parents and students have become accustomed to receiving guidance on exam preparation three to four weeks before the exam. This is probably the reason why students do not do as well as they are capable of in reality. Exam preparation should not start a few weeks before the exam… It should start at the beginning of the year in the classroom from day one.

More than half the battle is won in class

Students must listen to their teachers with intent all day, every day. Encourage your child to pay attention in class without being distracted because that will help him better understand the knowledge. More than half the battle is won in class. Academic absence should be discouraged at all costs, unless it is unavoidable.

Students believe that they will make up missed lessons on their own, this is not the same as receiving instructions from the teacher. This is the first step in successfully preparing for the exams. Stress and anxiety can be avoided if the preparation is constant and everything is not left for last. Instill these good habits in your teen and you will pave the way for their success.
