The birth rate in Spain continues to fall and mortality is rising

Newborn baby

Yes, you may have seen it on the news. The birth rate in Spain continues to decline and it is not that families do not want to have children, it is that the vast majority of them cannot afford it. There is hardly any aid to families, autonomous women have it even more complicated, money does not fall from the sky and raising children costs money, a lot of money.

There are many families that would like to have more children, but due to the way society is set up today, they simply cannot. And there are those who would love to have even just one child, but job insecurity and the country's not very buoyant economic system prevent it.

And what about those who barely make ends meet and have to go back to their parents' house? How can they be allowed to be parents or increase the birth rate when the state does not give any kind of help?

During the first semester of 2019, only 170.074 children were born in Spain, the lowest figure recorded since 1941, the first year for which there are statistics. The latest figures from the INE are reflected, which indicates that the number of newborns has fallen by 6% compared to the same period of the previous year, thus continuing the downward trend of recent years. In addition, in 2 more people have died than were born in Spain.  It is also worth making clear that the number of marriages has also dropped this year.

These data reflect the current situation of families, job insecurity, growing diseases in the population that increase mortality ... It is important for the government to realize that if they want to increase the birth rate in the country it will be necessary to invest in families to that they can at least, think if they increase the family or if they stay as they are.
