Making baby purees can seem a bit boring, since you can barely use ingredients. However, it is important that the children's food is not boring and always the same. This way you can prevent him from abhorring her and you will educate the palate of your son from a very young age.

Below you will find some recipes, designed for babies starting their complementary feeding journey. Before starting with the recipes, remember that it is very important introduce food one by one. This way you can easily check if the food does not suit you, you do not like it or if it produces a reaction. If you introduce several foods at once, it will take a long time to find out which one caused the reaction.

Pumpkin And Carrot Cream

  • The ingredients are the following, 2 carrots, a good piece of pumpkin, 1 large potato and a leek. We peel and wash all the ingredients well and dry with absorbent paper, we chop all the vegetables. We put a large casserole on the fire and add a drizzle of oil, add the vegetables and sauté for a couple of minutes. Add water until it covers the vegetables and cook for about 15 minutes. To finish, we blend with a hand mixer and add a drizzle of raw virgin olive oil.

  • In this case we will need 2 carrots, 1 turnip, 1 large sweet potato and 1 large potato. We peel and wash all the ingredients and dry. Cut into large pieces and sauté in a saucepan with a base of olive oil. When the vegetables take on color, add water until it covers and cook for about 20 minutes. Later, we crush everything well and add half a glass of milk, you can use breast milk or follow-on milk.

  • We will need 2 leeks, 2 large sweet potatoes and 50 grams of frozen peas. First we peel and wash the sweet potato well, dry and reserve. We clean the leeks well, removing any remaining soil, for this we make some cuts in the middle in the shape of a cross. We prepare a casserole with a drizzle of oil, fry the leek and sweet potato and add homemade vegetable broth. When 10 minutes have passed, add the peas and cook for another 5 or 7 minutes. Blend with a blender and add a drizzle of raw virgin olive oil.

Vegetable broth is the base of any puree, you can always do it with water but the broth will add vitamins and flavor to all meals. You can prepare quite a lot and freeze in different containers, so you will always have stock reserves when you need to cook.


  • Add 2 large peeled onion, 1 peeled carrots, 1 celery stalk, 1,5 peeled turnip, fresh parsley, and a bay leaf. Sauté the vegetables with a drizzle of olive oil for a few minutes, cover with XNUMX of water and simmer for about an hour. Then strain the broth well squeezing the vegetables to get all the juice.

As your baby grows you can grind the vegetables less, that is, instead of using the mixer you can mash the vegetables with a fork. In this way, it will better adapt to changes and will strengthen the jaw for future textures.
