Tricks for busy moms, how to apply a hair dye at home

How to apply a hair dye at home

Motherhood is a full-time job, with no breaks, no vacations, and no days off to take care of your own business. Therefore, frequently they stop doing things that involve investing an amount of time moderately important, such as going to the hairdresser or beauty salon. However, that is no reason to stop taking care of yourself, since today it is possible to do all kinds of beauty treatments at home.

In a very simple way you can apply a hair dye at home, as long as it is a similar color to the one you are wearing and you only need to cover the gray hair or touch up the roots. If you are not a hairdresser or do not have specialized knowledge, it is not recommended that you try to make a drastic makeover at home, because you can seriously damage the health of your hair. Without forgetting that you will most likely not get the color or the desired result.

How to apply a hair dye at home

The first thing is to choose the right product, in a color similar to the one you already wear and with a simple application. Today there are many easy-to-apply stain options that you can find on any surface and at very competitive prices. On the other hand, the ingredients that are used today in hair dyes are much softer than in the past, so they hardly damage the hair.

If you have the possibility of acquiring the dye in a specialized store, you can count on the help of one or a professional who they will advise you when choosing the right shade. On the other hand, before starting to apply the dye it is very important that you read the instructions included in the container very well. If you've never applied a dye before, you should do an allergy test 48 hours in advance.

Before starting

Prepare everything you will need to have everything at hand, such as an old towel, a shirt that you no longer use, a brush, a watch to control the time and a clip to hold the hair. It is also advisable to remove everything you have from the sink and place a protective paper or plastic to avoid possible damage to the countertop. Brush your hair very well before starting and put on latex or plastic gloves.

How to apply hair dye

The hair dye should be applied in sections, so that the roots are well covered before moving to the ends. To achieve this, you first have to part the hair down the center and apply dye to both halves of the hair, placing the brush well glued to the root and being careful not to touch the scalp too much. Then, separate the hair into fine strands and apply the product along the entire hairline, distributing the product with the brush or your fingers.

When you have applied the product on both halves of the hair, it is time to make a division at the back. Make a division separating the two side halves, comb the rest of the hair back and separate the three halves very well. Apply dye to the root and distributes well about two centimeters down, as you have done with the rest of the hair.

Let the dye run for 20 minutes, without touching the rest of the hair yet. You can put a clip so that the hair on your face does not bother you. After that time, start applying the rest of the product on the hair from the middle to the ends. You can spread the dye well with your hands, as if you were applying a mask. Let the product act for 10 more minutes.

The rinse

After the waiting time, it is time to rinse. Apply some warm water to your hair and perform a small massage with your fingers, to create a kind of emulsion. In this way, the dye is better removed from the scalp. Rinse with water until it runs clear and proceed to wash your hair as normal. To finish, apply a protective mask to deeply nourish your hair.
